Using panels or thick corners is one successful way of hiding shade mould markings on a finished product. This eight-sided shade is made in a four-part mould, and has a slightly-raised line on the edge of every other corner. (The Colonial Hexagonal Gas Shade, on the other hand, is only a two-part mould.)Because the mould lines are on the corners, the only way to determine how many parts this mould used is by running your fingers along the lip of the shade fitter.
