Our only blue shade, the 187A is made using "frit" glass, which is small, ground-up pieces of colored glass rolled into a larger mass of molten glass called a "gather". The gather is placed on the end of a glassblower's pipe and blown into the shade mould. As the glassblower expands the shade, these small pieces of hot glass blend with the gather and stretch inside the mould, resulting in a unique swirl pattern. No two frit glass shades are exactly alike. Brushed Nickel and Brushed Brass lighting finishes look fetching against the blue tones of this shade, as seen on the Baker City.
