Contrast Collection

Best of 2024

Bjelin has launched a carefully curated Contrast Collection that celebrates the distinct characteristics of the renowned Spačva oak. The new, vibrant range of Woodura Planks 3.0 was created through the fusion of technology and ageless craftsmanship and suits both residential and heavy-traffic commercial environments.

“We recognised the opportunity to craft a more dynamic floor by leveraging our existing colours and creating stark contrasts,” said Emanuel Lidberg, Head of Design at Bjelin. “Drawing on our Scandi-inspired palette, the Contrast Collection makes a statement while blending harmoniously with our Woodura Planks 3.0 range.”

Utilising its access to a state-of-the-art R&D department via Välinge Innovation, Bjelin has pioneered a cutting-edge approach to enhancing wood's natural structure. Due to the ground-breaking Woodura™ technology empowering the hardened wood floors, it was possible to employ a sophisticated array of nine precision-engineered brushes to seamlessly integrate contrasting pigments into the surface, highlighting the natural grain of the oak.

Woodura™ makes hardened wood floors three times stronger than traditional engineered wood options, with enhanced resistance to water and dents. Paired with the leakproof 5G Dry™ floor locking system, these floors ensure lasting durability and boast a superior class 33 pro matt lacquer – Bjelin’s toughest to date.

These powerhouse floors, made with European, FSC-certified wood from Croatia, are available in an XL format and a Nature grading. They redefine the game in residential and commercial design, injecting a sleek, tech-savvy edge that screams innovation.

Bjelin is part of the Pervanovo Invest AB Group and develops and manufactures a wide product range of both traditional wooden floors and innovative floors from new materials. The development is performed in collaboration with the sister company Välinge Innovation AB, best known as the inventors of the click floor.

The production takes place in our state-of-the-art factories in Sweden and in northern Croatia, where we have access to high-quality FSC-certified wood and highly experienced employees who, for generations, have worked to refine the well-known Slavonic oak into wine barrels and today into floors.

The Pervanovo Group, which currently has just over 2,000 employees, with production facilities in Viken (Sweden) and in Bjelovar, Ogulin, Otok and Vinkovci (northern Croatia), will in the next few years expand its production capacity to meet the demand for, mainly, wider Hardened Wood-planks and clickable strips for glue-free installation of Herringbone Parquet.

The founders of Bjelin and Välinge invented the first click floor in 1993 and developed, in 1977 during their employment at Perstorp, the world's first laminate floor.
