Eldorado Stone’s Rivenwood is a panelized stone veneer with wood grain characteristics. Inspired by the pioneering craftsmanship seen in 19th century barns, Rivenwood is designed with authentic details such as nails, breaks and knots with a unique patina that blends natural wood colors with unexpected tonal grains for an aged yet contemporary design. Each cut is made with varied heights to create an organic typography and biophilic feel. Rivenwood is available in three versatile colorways including: Shelter Cove, an organic grey with flashes of silver and light brown, Shore Breeze, a fresh and creamy white, and Tawny Brown, a rich, mature brown with lighter tones peppered throughout.
The Design Process
The design objective with the Rivenwood profile was to translate the the beautiful aging process of wood into a captivating veneer format that would be right at home in interior or exterior applications. Created with materials that offer depth, complexity of color, pattern and tactile distinction that are identical to authentic wood grain, it is produced using a concrete mixture that’s poured into a mold and colored using mineral pigments. Its porous and lightweight properties make it easy to cut and handle, creating a streamlined and more cost-efficient installation process compared to natural stone.
