cloth is a small independent fabric company based in Australia. Our home is a sunny corner shop on William street in Darlinghurst, Sydney. We make and sell fabric, all kinds of product using the fabric, rugs, furniture, wallpaper and art – products for the home all made by hand. We work with local crafts people the old fashioned way, slowly, one thing at a time. We’ve been working this way since we began in 1995.We love working with natural fabrics, our favourites being hemp and linen. Our fabric is screen printed by the metre on a long table in a tin shed in country New South Wales. We use water based, nontoxic inks and dyes and have a sustainable, low impact approach to manufacturing and materials.The inspiration for our work comes from our connection to nature, specifically the strength, austerity and scale of the Australian landscape.
