Capulet

Description: The actual print artwork for Capulet was created with watercolors on paper. We created layers of long drips to form a striated image. We then scanned the artwork and finessed it on the computer. We tried to distill the essence of woven silk by simulating the color distribution found in that wonderful color flip of real silk. Our character print adds the shadow and thread detail. The embossing pulls everything together. We think the actual finished prodcut does look like a silk fabric. The color play in several colorways almost works like an actual chambray. We named the pattern "Capulet" from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet since we want to evoke the elegance and romance of the period. We also added a few usuable but dramatic deep tones to further reference the rich coloring used in Renaissance clothing.--Bob Lehrmitt & Sharon DrinkwineBook : Lanark Backing : 100% Polyester Osnaburg Type : II Configuration : Vinyl Weight : 20 oz.
