Ikat (ekot)

Description: Ikat is a technique for creating designs in fabric by tie-dying yarns before they are woven. In South America, Indonesia, and Central Asia, this technique was developed to a high art. Ikat patterned fabrics are distinguishable by the softly jagged edges of the woven motifs, caused by slight shifting of the yarns in the weaving process. While my pattern here does not contain the characteristic graphic imagery of a real ikat fabric, the brindled, shifting color is inspired by the process. By delicately weaving several colors together, I have tried to produce a rich, single color effect within each of these various colorways. --Ray WenzelBook : Cirqa Backing : Osnaburg Type : II Configuration : Vinyl Weight : 20 oz Width : 54 Bolt Size : 30 lyd Number of Colorways Available : 21
