The Design Process

The Objective
To reimagine classic tambour paneling for the modern commercial interior. Our goal was to develop a versatile, design-forward wood surface that celebrates natural materials while meeting the durability, performance, and sustainability demands of today’s hospitality, office, and mixed-use environments.

The Team
Led by Surfacing Solution’s in-house product development team and informed by close collaboration with interior designers, millworkers, and fabricators across North America. Our team brings together decades of experience in architectural wood manufacturing, engineering, and commercial design solutions.

The Solution
We introduced a veneer line of  tambour panels to compliment our solid wood offering and provide a econimc solution to commercial design application.We offer a curated range of profiles and finishes, and each panel is handcrafted in our Minnesota facility. Our process balances old-world craftsmanship with modern scalability—bringing warmth, texture, and timeless materiality to commercial interiors.
