GSA Regional Office Building

Situated at the intersection of 7th Street and D Street, SW, the GSA National Capital Region (NCR) regional office building anchors a main intersection with proximity to key transportation nodes, vehicular and pedestrian access. Transforming the former federal warehouse into a modern, efficient workplace inspired GGA to introduce abundant natural light to the interior with the aid of a new, glass-enclosed atrium. The proposed modernization calls for a structure that will potentially house multiple government agencies, blur the barrier between outside and inside, and epitomize environmental sustainability and energy efficiency, while supporting federal requirements for secure, technologically advanced and high-performing work environments. The completed building will showcase the existing historic murals by Edward Weston in a new, “Class ‚¬ËœA' First Impressions building lobby with security control. Additional collaborative and amenity spaces will elevate the quality of the work environment and contribute to increased asset value and rental rates for this federal facility. The renovated building will feature: a conference center, cafeteria, fitness center, daycare center, credit union, health unit, employee store, and union office.
