John Boone and his partner, Christopher Lockwood, launched their careers with interior design degrees in New York in the early 1980's. Their expertise spans many aspects of the interior design world, from positions within high-end interior design firms to custom furniture trade showrooms, prior to establishing their own company in 1990.John Boone, Inc. began in a diminutive, 300 s.f. "boutique" showroom in Manhattan's prestigious D&D Building. Within nine months, the company had outgrown the space and moved into larger quarters within the D&D. In 1993, the company moved once again to even larger quarters - an expansive two-storey loft showroom at 63rd Street and 3rd Avenue. Within this new sprawling space, quite a coveted commodity in New York City, the partners were able to expand the collections and broaden their product offering, which they consistently continue to develop. The company currently offers four main collections: the tailored upholstered elements and the intricately detailed woodworking designs of the Lockwood/Boone Collection, the timeless designs of the Paul M. Jones Collection, the elegant sconces and floor lamps of the Jerome Sutter Lighting Collection, as well as the hand-engraved and painted tables from the Laque de Chine Collection, imported from France.From the beginning, quality and attention to detail have been the company's ultimate and paramount goals. All of the classic and sophisticated products are meticulously hand-fabricated to the client's exact specifications.
