Considered by many to be the ultimate all-in-one guest chair, our innovatively designed RP Sleepchair easily transforms from a chair to a chaise to a bed. As with every Durfold piece, the sleepchair is made of component parts for reliable and continuous service. The RP Sleepchair is also available with a curved arm (RP-1194) or a straight arm (RP-3230).A "wall hugging" feature has been designed into this model, allowing it to recline into bed position without moving the unit from the wall. The RP Series features a mechanism that allows three positions: chair, chaise and bed. These positions may be located by operating the chair with cushions standing beside and in front of chair. Basic chair frame is 3/4" all welded steel tubing which has been painted with the electrostatic powder-coated finish. Each unit is upholstered in superior quality vinyl which meets hospital fire code requirements.Cushions are filled with 5 1/2" polyfoam wrapped in dacron. These cushions make up a sleeping surface finish at 6 1/2" thickness to provide a very comfortable bed. The bed and chair height is 19 1/2" for user friendly access. There are no separate cushions or parts to be misplaced or lost.Mobility is provided by swivel casters that can be locked. Wall stops are welded to frame with rubber sleeve to prevent marring of wall. Arms are constructed from selected hardwood.
