The Design Process

The Objective
To create a compact, dual-technology cooktop that provides both the speed and precision of induction cooking and the gentle, radiant heat of a ceramic burner—all in a versatile form factor that works for both built-in and freestanding installations.

The Team
The project was developed by Equator’s in-house product design and engineering teams, working in collaboration with manufacturing partners specializing in advanced heating technology and vitroceramic materials. User feedback from chefs, home cooks, and small-space dwellers was incorporated into the design process to ensure practical usability and safety.

The Solution
The result is the Equator EHC 20211 Hybrid Cooktop—a 20-inch, low-profile appliance that delivers maximum functionality in minimal space. One induction burner features a pan sensor and boost mode for high-heat precision, while the ceramic burner provides steady, radiant heat for delicate cooking. Touch controls, auto power sharing, and comprehensive safety features make it intuitive and secure to use, while its sleek black glass surface ensures it blends seamlessly into any kitchen style.
