BR Design Associates led the interior design for Mariner Investment Group’s new New York City office, crafting an elevated environment that seamlessly blends professionalism, refinement, and functionality. The design reflects Mariner’s identity as an alternative investment management firm—sophisticated, forward-thinking, and grounded in precision—while supporting the firm’s daily operations and collaborative culture. Drawing inspiration from Mariner’s signature deep blue and brassy gold palette, our team curated a bespoke design package that translates the brand’s visual identity into the physical space. Subtle blue accents, rich metallic details, and warm natural finishes establish a cohesive atmosphere that feels both modern and timeless. Custom millwork, tailored furnishings, and thoughtfully integrated lighting highlight the craftsmanship and attention to detail that define the firm’s aesthetic.
Throughout the office, distinct zones balance focus and interaction: private offices and open workstations promote productivity, while flexible meeting rooms and informal lounges encourage connection and collaboration. A welcoming reception area sets the tone upon arrival, combining sleek finishes with soft lighting to create a professional yet approachable first impression. The Design Process
The design process for Mariner Investment Group’s new office was guided by a clear objective: to translate the firm’s distinguished identity into a workplace that embodies professionalism, precision, and a sense of calm sophistication. BR Design Associates approached this challenge with a focus on balance—merging aesthetic refinement with everyday functionality to create a space that truly supports Mariner’s people and operations.
The project team—Michael Rait (Principal), Chase Kaars (Senior Project Manager), and Caela Mone (Interior Designer)—worked collaboratively to ensure that every design decision aligned with Mariner’s vision. From the earliest planning stages, the team engaged in detailed discussions with the client to understand not only their spatial needs but also the brand attributes that define their firm. This collaborative approach allowed the design to evolve organically, grounded in research, dialogue, and an understanding of how employees and clients interact within the space.
The solution was a thoughtfully curated environment that translates Mariner’s brand palette—deep blues and brassy golds—into a sophisticated, contemporary setting.
