To create a portable air conditioner that delivers powerful cooling and heating for large spaces while remaining quiet, mobile, and environmentally responsible. The goal was to design a unit that seamlessly adapts to both indoor and outdoor use, without compromising on performance, aesthetics, or ease of operation.

The Team
The Equator Appliances design and engineering team collaborated with HVAC specialists, acoustic engineers, and sustainability consultants. Consumer research from apartment dwellers, office users, and event organizers guided the development, ensuring the product addressed real-world challenges of noise, mobility, and energy efficiency.

The Solution
The result is the Equator PAC 8000 Portable Air Conditioner—a versatile, 18,000 BTU unit that cools spaces up to 1,000 sq. ft. while operating at just 52 dB. Designed with four easy-roll casters, remote control, and a digital timer, it prioritizes user convenience.
