Eckard Enterprises Headquarters – Office Interior Finish-Out and Exterior Improvements

Best of 2025
Nominee
BR Architects, Inc. (dba BR Architects & Engineers - BRAE) served as Architect of Record for the interior finish-out of a shell building and exterior improvements of the Eckard Enterprises Corporate office. The project involved transforming a commercial shell space into a fully functional headquarters facility, incorporating high-end executive offices, open workspaces, collaborative meeting areas, and support zones. Architectural services included space planning, interior detailing, finish selections, and coordination with MEP and structural, also provided by BRAE. The project also addressed exterior modifications for enhanced entry visibility, signage, and site integration. The design reflects Eckard's professional brand while ensuring comfort, functionality, and code compliance for a high-performance work environment.

The Design Process

The objective for the Eckard Enterprises Headquarters was to create a refined, efficient, and brand-aligned office environment while enhancing the building's presence and usability through targeted exterior upgrades. The design team—led by BR Architects (BRAE) in collaboration with Rand Construction Corporation (General Contractor), Forest Perkins (Interior Design), Hawkes & Associates, Inc. (MEP Engineer), BRAE (structural Engineer), and key subcontractors—worked closely with the client to develop a holistic solution. In addition to the full interior finish-out, the project included façade improvements to strengthen the company’s public identity and visual impact, along with exterior site planning to improve circulation, signage visibility, and employee and visitor experience. Through careful coordination, thoughtful detailing, and code-compliant integration of all building systems, the team delivered a tailored headquarters facility that supports both operational efficiency and long-term growth.

Sustainability

Sustainable design principles were integrated throughout the Eckard Enterprises Headquarters project to promote energy efficiency, occupant comfort, and long-term performance. The HVAC system was designed to meet current IMC and ASHRAE standards for indoor air quality and thermal control. Material selections prioritized low-VOC finishes and durable products with reduced maintenance needs. Building Information Modeling (BIM) was used during design coordination to streamline integration between architectural, mechanical, electrical, and structural systems—minimizing conflicts, improving accuracy, and supporting construction efficiency.
