Based upon the client’s objectives, the design concept was strategically developed to create a work/eat/play atmosphere that encourages creativity and relaxation. Because the office is located in a Southern California beach community, the design for space planning, architectural finishes, and furniture selections drew inspiration from sunshine, blue sky, ocean waves, open spaces, and an active lifestyle.
The space provides communal work stations and collaborative meeting and conference rooms for brainstorming sessions. Open kitchen, dining, and lounge areas encourage staff to relax while providing plenty of opportunity for chance meetings. A spacious multi-functional area was designed for large gatherings and company-wide meetings and celebrations.
A palette of blue and warm grays creates water and beach sand characteristics. Green lawn carpet was selected to create a park-like setting for the multi-functional recreation space. Colorful chairs symbolize bright, lively beach towels, and beach chairs in lounge areas emphasize the relaxing beach environment. Street signs are used to identify meeting rooms, which take their names from local landmarks.
