Carleton Designs, a hand weaving studio in Northern California, has been creating unique hand-dyed and handwoven worsted wool flatweave rugs and carpets for the last 41 years. In the traditional summer-winter blockweave technique, these rugs are completely reversible, with one side the inverse pattern of the other. The double sided weave structure creates a dense wool flatweave that averages 3/4 lb. per sq.ft.  Combining the highest quality Argentine worsted wool, Belgian linen and Swiss dyes of the most subtle shadings, these rugs are timeless in beauty and unrivaled in durability.

New to the studio is Shimmer, an exploration of ikat dyeing in the summer-winter weave, contemporizing the possibilities of random patterning. Custom colors and sizes are available from large main carpets to area rugs and runners.
