The Design Process
SILA 18 LED Bollard Light was conceived to combine modern minimalism with precision outdoor illumination. The design team began by shaping a sleek, cylindrical form that integrates seamlessly into contemporary landscapes while providing a strong visual identity.
From the outset, engineers focused on optical performance and Dark Sky compliance. SILA’s full-cutoff design directs all light downward, eliminating uplight, backlight, and glare, enhancing safety and reducing light pollution. Precision Type V optics ensure controlled illumination for pathways, parks, and outdoor environments.
Durability and long-term performance were central to the process. The housing, crafted from cast and extruded aluminum with a textured powder-coat finish, provides corrosion resistance and structural integrity, while clear UV-stabilized polycarbonate lenses resist impact and vandalism. Electrical components, including surge protection and 0-10V dimming, were integrated to ensure reliable performance in extreme conditions.
Finally, SILA was equipped with EXTREME-LIFE LED technology, achieving an L70 rating of 147,000 hours. This ensures long-lasting, low-maintenance performance, supporting sustainability and reducing lifecycle costs for both residential and commercial projects.
