About Laurinda Spear, FAIAAs a founding principal of Arquitectonica, Laurinda Spear, FAIA has helped lead the worldwide expansion of the firm that is based in Miami and New York with offices in Los Angeles, Paris, Madrid, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Manila, Lima, Buenos Aires, and São Paulo. Ms. Spear has worked on the architecture and interior design of museums, performing arts centers, courthouses, government buildings, residences, low-income housing, luxury condominiums, office towers, corporate headquarters, retail centers and hotels. Ms. Spear has also worked on designs on a smaller scale from furniture to laminate sand textiles to neckties and scarves and many more. Among her favorite projects was illustrating the children's book, The Fisherman and His Wife. Ms. Spear received her BA in Fine Arts from Brown University and her MA in Architecture from Columbia University. Ms. Spear is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects (FAIA, 1992) and has received many accolades internationally for her architectural and design achievements, including introduction into the Interior Design Hall of Fame in 1999.
