Pi is designed for change. While a rectangular shape dictates a grid arrangement, Pi lets you curve rows amphitheater style, or into study groups for collaboration. Each student space is a generous 42 inches, a full foot longer than most space allocations. This gives ideal privacy space to promote individual creativity and confident test taking. The tables nest together in a way that connects the group for a common interest in the task at hand: instruction, student-centered learning, group projects, presentations, and interactive learning.Pi can be outfitted with power/data ports for laptops, or may be equipped for multi-use teaching with flipIT ® for LCDs or flipIT ® Laptop Safes. Pi stands 28 inches high for working with laptops, and 30 inches high for use with flipIT ® for LCD and keyboard tray. The flipIT ® Laptop Safe permits a connection to power and data even when locked, making it a charging cabinet at the point of use. In use, the lid of the laptop safe is lower than the laptop screen, so it presents no visual obstructions in the classroom. The flipIT ® for LCDs presents the screen in a semi-recessed position, similar to to a laptop viewing angle, and this also removes visual obstructions made by monitors placed directly on the desktop. When computers are not being used, the LCDs rotate under the desktop.The leg system supporting Pi has a wire channel from floor to modesty panel. The modesty panel has a wire management J channel that runs its width. If the Brig or EZ-Cinch CPU holders are specified, the CPUs hang in line with the leg, out of the knee space.
