The Design Process

LX Hausys introduced four new HIMACS solid surface colors to give commercial and residential designers more expressive, high-performance surface options for modern interiors. The new colors were designed for environments ranging from hospitality and wellness spaces to retail, workplace and residential settings, offering refined visual impact along with durability, cleanability and fabrication flexibility.

The new HIMACS colors were developed by LX Hausys America as part of its HIMACS solid surface portfolio. The collection reflects the company’s focus on combining natural inspiration, refined aesthetics and long-lasting performance for designers seeking surfaces that can either make a bold statement or create a calm, elevated atmosphere.

The four introductions expand two HIMACS collections: Calacatta Full Moon and Calacatta Snow Moon join the Calacatta Collection, while Terrazzo Ulivo and Terrazzo Nuvola join the Terrazzo Collection.

Calacatta Full Moon features long, flowing veins across a rich cream-toned base, with subtle tonal variation and a faint sparkle that follows the veining for added depth and warmth. Calacatta Snow Moon offers a soft, light-toned base with thin and bold veining, creating a sophisticated Calacatta pattern with a delicate luminous shimmer. Terrazzo Ulivo features an off-white base with olive and gray-green terrazzo speckles inspired by traditional Italian terrazzo and Mediterranean olive groves. Terrazzo Nuvola combines light, cloud-like chips with deeper tones inspired by wildflowers in a pine forest, creating a gentle yet expressive terrazzo look.

All four colors are available in 30-by-145-inch sheets with a 1/2-inch thickness and are backed by LX Hausys’ 15-year limited warranty.

Sustainability

HIMACS is a durable, nonporous solid surface material made from a blend of acrylic, natural minerals and pigments. It is seamless, repairable and hygienic, making it suitable for countertops, wall panels, custom furniture and commercial surfaces. Its thermoformable properties also allow designers to create curved, sculptural and custom applications with greater design freedom.

HIMACS surfaces are GREENGUARD and NSF certified, supporting indoor air quality and hygiene considerations for commercial and residential interiors.

LX Hausys manufactures solid surface products at its U.S. facility in Adairsville, Georgia. The facility spans more than 293,000 square feet, operates three production lines and is the only U.S. plant that produces both solid surface and quartz in the same location. LX Hausys’ U.S.-based manufacturing and nearby Central Distribution Center support product availability across the U.S. and Canada while helping reduce environmental impact associated with long-distance and international transportation.

The four new HIMACS colors are a strong Design Journal submission because they expand the design range of solid surface with two refined Calacatta looks and two nature-inspired terrazzo patterns. The introductions respond to current demand for surfaces that can create either elevated statement moments or calm, restorative environments across hospitality, wellness, retail, workplace and residential interiors.

The submission is also supported by HIMACS’ performance story.
