Two versions are available:The IBM PS2 Keyboard Interface Cable (part number MK9540-72A47-SD) will send information to wherever the cursor is placed on the screen. The RS232 Contact to Comport (part number MK9540-72B41-SD), on back of computer, will send information serially.When the bar code appears before the scanner, it automatically activates the 650-nanometer laser. The scan line remains illuminated but will not accept a bar code until the CodeGate button is pressed on the scanner. Press the CodeGate button and the data is then transmitted to the host system at a speed of 70 scans per second. Scanner is equipped with a stand for both hand-held and fixed projection capabilities. It can be used in or out of stand with activation of scanning CodeGate button.
