Strata collection: an array of colours and patterns inspired by nature

Best of 2024

Belgian high-tech flooring company 2TEC2 introduces Strata: a new collection of hybrid woven flooring, inspired by the layers of the earth. Discover the range of colours and patterns.

Nature’s beauty beneath your feet

Once again, 2TEC2 drew inspiration from nature for the design of their newest collection. Strata’s dynamic line motif is based on the ancient stratification in rocks and stones. Dark and light hues alternate and extend across the floor.

Diverse colour palette

The Strata collection includes 9 unique colours, named after our planet’s most fascinating stones. 6 shades are rather natural and subtle, while the 3 others provide a vibrant pop of colour with their red, blue, and green hues.

Astonishing installation patterns

Strata’s line motif lives and breathes: the collection is available in both tiles (50 x 50 cm / 19.69" x 19.69") and planks (20 x 75 cm / 7.87" x 29.53") and offers 5 different installation patterns. Each laying pattern creates a unique, geometric motif on the floor. From diagonal to diamond-shaped: just like in nature, the possibilities are endless.

Sustainability

Bio-based

On top of its unique design, the Strata collection is also bio-based. This means that during the production of the top layer of this woven floor, 45% more renewable organic carbons are used instead of fossil carbons.

Bio-based products are derived from materials of biological origin, like plant waste, excluding materials coming from geological formations and fossilised materials. Virgin fossil raw materials are a finite resource, whereas Bio-based ones are renewable. The use of Bio-based products leads to a reduction of CO2 emissions, toxic waste, and energy and water consumption during production processes.

A passion for flooring that combines excellence and innovation to produce exquisite designs and materials. This has been the guiding principle of our founders Katia Dewitte, her husband Philippe Hanet and brother James Dewitte. What began as a small Belgian atelier of stylish floor coverings has quickly flourished. Katia’s journey began in 1991 with the launch of 2tec2’s sister company, Limited Edition, founded on the renowned Belgian traditions of elegant weaving and design. Katia focused her attention on providing high-quality, custom-made rugs to the residential market. Soon after, James and Philippe joined Katia, and together they began to build the company from the ground up, carving out a place for themselves in the flooring industry through superior quality, innovation and expertise. In 2000, the partners launched what would become Limited Edition and 2tec2’s parent company, Le Tissage, purchasing their first weaving looms and taking the leap into industrial manufacturing. Over the next two decades, the company overtook the industry by storm, purchasing and founding mills to spin, dye, tuft and weave Le Tissage ‘s premier flooring products. 2tec2 - part of the Le Tissage group of companies – was launched in 2005 by James for the project market. Under Philippe’s direction, and with the help of a highly crafted team, 2tec2 evolved into a fully integrated production facility. Together they placed 2tec2 on the world stage among the leading woven-vinyl flooring manufacturers.
