The weavers of the “Lost Weave” collection appear to have chosen the colors as the mood took them: a few knots of white wool with a scattering of black or lemon yellow here and there. The basic pattern of vertical pink stripes is only hinted at and is often interrupted. Dabs of blue wool – a mistake? Or perhaps even a spot of ink.

Jan Kath is one of the most in demand designers of hand knotted carpets. He purposely breaks with conventional styles and throws strict design rules overboard.His carpets have won many awards (Red Dot, Carpet Design Award, and many more) and are often exhibited in art and design museums (including the Museum für angewandte Kunst in Frankfurt, Art Museum Riga Bourse, and the Beijing International Design Triennial).
