Bionic Architecture: Public Landmark Concept

This project presents a hybrid AI-powered architectural visualization workflow applied to a conceptual public building with a bionic, fluid architectural style. The design explores a neo-futuristic landmark intended as an art-oriented public space, where architecture itself becomes an immersive, sculptural experience.

1. AI Ideation & Human Interpretation

AI tools were introduced at the earliest ideation phase to accelerate form exploration. Initial concept references were generated using Gemini with the Nana Banana model, enabling rapid investigation of organic massing, continuous surfaces, and dynamic spatial rhythm without predefined architectural constraints. Selected AI-generated concepts were then interpreted through hand sketches, where human authorship guided decisions on scale, spatial hierarchy, and architectural logic. This step translated expressive visual ideas into a coherent architectural intent.

2. 3D Modeling & Rendering

Following concept selection, the architecture was fully modeled in Autodesk 3ds Max. Traditional 3D modeling and rendering were used to define and lock the building’s geometry, ensuring continuity of form, correct proportions, and architectural consistency. This production-grade digital asset became the structural backbone of the project and a control layer for all subsequent AI-assisted visualization stages.

3. AI-Assisted Context

With the architecture fixed, AI tools were reintroduced to expand visual exploration. Using Krea AI with multiple models, including Krea Nana Banana, over 120 AI-generated variations were produced to test environmental contexts, lighting conditions, landscape solutions, and atmospheric moods inspired by contemporary Middle Eastern city views. Image editing and compositing were performed in Adobe Photoshop, followed by final refinement using AI-based enhancers and upscalers. Working on top of the established 3D asset allowed creative flexibility while preventing geometry distortion, loss of architectural detail, or scale inconsistency. 

4. AI Animation 

AI-assisted video generation was created using Veo 3 and Kling, enabling the development of a fly-through sequence that communicates spatial flow and atmosphere. Final editing, basic sound design, and assembly were completed in Adobe After Effects, resulting in an immersive audiovisual presentation.


Results

Final outputs include high-resolution exterior visualizations and a fly-through animation that convey the spatial and emotional qualities of the project as if encountered in real life. This project demonstrates how a balanced hybrid workflow, combining AI-assisted creativity with traditional 3D precision, can expand possibilities while maintaining architectural reliability, predictability, and quality. AI is positioned as a powerful enhancement tool rather than a replacement for architectural authorship, offering a scalable solution for contemporary architectural visualization.
