“Sustainability and energy-efficiency are a very hot topic in lighting technology today. We're looking forward to unveiling what we believe is the future of street lighting at this year's SPI conferenceâ€â€nothing else like it exists,†said Mike Nevins, Founder of Full Spectrum Solutions. For the city of Ann Arbor, Michigan, installing the EverLast® PVW at the entrance to Buhr Park was another small step in their “Go Solar Ann Arbor†Campaign, which aims to have municipal operations running on 30 percent renewable energy by 2010 and approximately 20 percent of the entire community on renewable energy by 2015. The EverLast® PVW Hybrid represents a partnership between the City of Ann Arbor and the University of Michigan's “Sustainable Design Research Laboratory†(SDRL) within the Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning (TCAUP). “The light uses induction technology, which means the power needed to generate it is transferred from the outside of the lamp via electromagnetic fields. Its life expectancy is about 22 years. Other than the cost of putting it up there, it's not going to cost us another cent for a long time," said David Konkle, Ann Arbor's city Energy Coordinator.
Full Spectrum Solutions manufactures innovative, energy-efficient lighting solutions including patented task lamps, CFLs, linear tubes and commercial fixtures. Today, FSS products are sold globally under the brands BlueMax™, UltraLux® and EverLast®. For product information call 888.574.7014
