Nulty+

Renovation and extension of a period property in South-West London. The property has been refurbished throughout including a single story extension, creating a spacious kitchen which opens onto a contemporary garden at the rear.The architectural lighting design brief was to retain the period features and create a warm and welcoming home tying in the modern extension to provide a contemporary entertaining space.Nulty's approach was to build up layers of light allowing different moods to be created. Picture lighting to the prints in the entrance hall draws the eye through into the house. Spotlights have been kept to a minimum, placed in considered locations with a combination of pendants, table and wall lights providing layers of ambient and feature lighting.Lighting has been integrated into the kitchen joinery providing soft vertical illumination and the skylight running the length of the space has been uplit from a cove integrated into the architecture. In the garden miniature spike-mounted spotlights have been used to highlight elements of the planting and to give a sense of the space in the evenings.
