Nulty+

Occasionally, residential properties come our way that are so architecturally daring and imaginative that they ought to be seen by more than the family living there. This is one of those properties.We developed the lighting design solution alongside the architectural team, and our aim was to showcase the magnificent features of the house while still creating a warm, convivial and relaxing living environment.One of our favourite areas to design was the incredible swimming pool – where the spiral glass staircase and low feature ceiling add more than a touch of pizzazz. To give a sense of space, light and grandeur, we used uplit coffers to visually “lift” the top of the room.Throughout the building, we focused on lighting that is as environmentally friendly as possible – such as low-energy luminaires, and a lighting control system which dims the lights and reduces energy consumption when daylight levels are high.

Nulty+ is an award-winning independent architectural lighting design practice. We collaborate with architects and designers to provide innovative lighting designs, tailored to each individual project. We use light to reveal and accentuate the architectural environment, while recognising the importance of creating solutions that are easy to maintain and cost-effective. We strive to reduce the environmental impact of our designs by maximising energy efficiency and minimising light pollution and trespass, and by sourcing equipment with minimal embodied energy. Our solutions are innovative and often exceed current legislation and regulation. We work across a broad spectrum of sectors including: education, exterior/public realm, healthcare, hospitality, museums, residential, retail and work place.
