Paragon department store is located in Siam Paragon, a luxury shopping mall in Bangkok that offers a high-end retail experience for locals and tourists alike.Nulty worked in close collaboration with the interior designers to develop a new architectural lighting design concept for the interior refurbishment of the beauty hall, which, at 5000 sq m, is the largest in Asia.Nulty's design brief was to create a strong, confident and modern identity and to add ‘personality’ to the retail space. The architectural lighting design solution reinforces this ethos through the use of strong accent lighting combined with discrete background illumination, all of which is further enhanced with feature chandeliers. The lighting design philosophy ensures that lighting supports the visual merchandising across the space, enabling products to ‘pop’.The existing scheme was visually busy with limited views across the beauty hall; removal of the visual clutter enabled the creation of a cohesive design while still allowing for individual branding and providing permeability. Reclaiming this space allowed Nulty to introduce the stunning light feature, which, stretching out across the beauty hall, adds ‘personality’.The ceiling detail is continued throughout with general spotlighting integrated within. Display lighting to merchandise and branding has been designed into the custom fixturing, providing focal points within the retail space and aiding navigation
