The Basics:Interior and Exterior Door Sets include doorknobs, backplates, and spindles. Each pair of doorknobs includes 1 spindle. Using our doorknobs with another brand of backplates? Measure the inside diameter of your backplate's "collar"; it should be at least 5/8". Our doorknobs thread onto 9/32" (20 tpi: threads per inch) spindles that fit our reproduction (and some old) mortise locks and tube latches. They won't fit Schlage or other newfangled locksets.
