Characterized by delicate curves and stand-alone “furniture style” elements, SieMatic's SG6 is a “soft modern” concept that masterfully blurs the lines between kitchen and living space. A highlight of the innovative new design, SG6’s island features a uniquely beveled countertop, towel bar, shelving and indoor planters. Plus, a customizable panel wall system includes cabinets, shelves and even coordinating lights, allowing one to create a completely personalized transition into surrounding living areas.
The Design Process
The SieMatic design team in Germany focussed on bringing curves and softness to the kitchen in a subtle, yet balanced way as a response to uncertain times, where a sense of peace and tranquilty is desired.
They satisfied this goal with material options including wood, laminate, natural stone along with a black grip profile, recess channels, railing, shelf supports, glass shelves and panel lights. Finishes include Havana Oak, Lotus White, Sahara Beige, Agate Gray, Stone Gray, Graphite Gray, Graphite Oak, Hazel Brown Oak, Dark Bronze Velvet Matt, Caviar Green Velvet Matt, and more.
Sustainability
SieMatic uses technology to focus on sustainability measures that ensure longevity in both form and function. From their in-house power station and insect friendly training to off-cut optimization, and minimization of hazardous materials, the company strives to preserve and protect the world’s natural resources.
These technologies allow SieMatic to embrace sustainability via myriad methods including using wood chips to produce their own heat, which brings significant energy savings and enables them to operate their German headquarters largely independent of fossil fuels. By developing strict quality tests, the company checks everything from hinges to simulation of different climate zones and ensures that their quality products will never end up in landfills.
