The collection offers two styles of bases: an open cube and an open rectangle base. The combination of modern simple lines with a retro look was key in designing the Bamboo Collection. John Barker, Surfacetech National Sales Manager, designed and led a team with this style in mind. Barker has a wide variety of experiences including residential and commercial interior design.The open rectangle and open cube bases create a light feel and an open look with wire management built in for superior functionality to work with a multitude of power and data options. The credenza provides a retro "MAD MEN" style. The bamboo modular credenzas are designed to offer flexibility. Options include single and double door units, box/file drawer units and wardrobes. The tables, along with the credenzas, are available in a variety of sizes, finishes and includes several table edge profile options that allow the natural beauty of this product to show.The Bamboo Collection provides the ultimate sustainable conferencing solution. Surfacetech fabricates the table tops from solid bamboo cores, which are harvested from an FSC Certified forest. Solid bamboo cores are also used for the support stretchers on the tables and credenzas as well as the base access doors and credenza doors and drawer fronts. Bases are made from particle board substrate covered with FSC Certified bamboo veneers. The solid bamboo cores speak to the quality and durability of Surfacetech’s Bamboo Collection. On the Janka Hardness Scale, Bamboo ranks harder than oak, cherry, maple and walnut. All items are finished using Surfacetech's nine step process. Items are coated with a catalyzed lacquer to minimize yellowing and maximize clarity. This Bamboo Collection has proven to have wide appeal to include universities and corporations.
