This Braille writer is an exciting new mechanical “Braille typewriter” or “pen and paper” for the visually impaired produced by a non-profit organization. It creates the six dots that form a Braille character through activating the six main front keys. Braille letters and numbers are embossed into the paper that has been loaded into the machine. Its mechanical nature is pivotal in Braille education and in parts of the world where electricity is scarce. This Next Generation Braille writer is lighter, smaller, quieter and requires less key force than its predecessor. Major features include: a paper support tray, front navigational margins, an interactive top carriage control, comfortable shape/ placement of keys and a front carry handle for easy transport. Its gentle touch keys require a lighter stroke, making Braille writing more accessible for young users and those with physical limitations. Strong texture and color breakup between components make them easily distinguishable by blind and low vision users.
