Press Release

With dollars and greening the planet in mind, hotel decorative textile company, Valley Forge Fabrics successfully changes their business model and emerges sexy and profitable.

Pompano Beach, Fl ( ) September 4, 2008 – Valley Forge Fabrics, a decorative textile company for the hospitality industry has been receiving a lot of positive press lately and was featured in the South Florida Business Journal for its eco-friendly business and production tactics.

“It can all be FRESH!” claims Diana Dobin, Senior Vice President of Valley Forge. The new FRESH collection now includes bedding and drapery to go along with their running line of FRESH upholstery fabrics. FRESH is an acronym for Fabrics Re-Defining Environmental Standards for Hospitality. “Valley Forge has been an innovator within the decorative textile Industry to leverage the capabilities of recycled and recyclable contents,” said Dobin. The flexibility of our FRESH offerings can provide appropriate end use for all decorative hotel guest room applications - not just upholstery fabrics, but sumptuous bedding as well as luxurious inherently fire retardant drapery and sheer fabrics." The FRESH collection is made up entirely of 100% Recycled content and is recyclable.

The company made a commitment to its hospitality customers such as Starwood, Marriott and Disney to be the first to provide an entire guestroom made from recycled and recyclable fabrics. Valley Forge is also the only company to date who has an established reclamation program to facilitate the recycling of all FRESH fabrics at the end of their life's use.

Until now, hotels had no way of recycling their unwanted fabrics and simply sent them to landfills. Recently, furniture manufacturers have begun calling and asking for their FRESH scraps to be picked up and recycled. According to Michael Dobin, Senior Vice President, “Consumers are looking for products that are less harmful to our environment, and more importantly, vendors are making their own personal decisions to lessen their ecological footprint in their manufacturing processes."

This past June, Valley Forge's environmental efforts were recognized with The Sustainable Florida Best Practice Award in the Large Business Category. Sustainable Florida is an alliance of business, government and civic leaders and organizations committed to defining excellence for Florida's economic, environmental and social future. “Each nominee is outstanding and doing extremely innovative things to better the environment” according to Tim Center, Director of Sustainable Florida. Tim continues “This year, the word ‘sustainability' became part of everyone's vocabulary. Among this group of nominees, Valley Forge was an undiscovered gem in Florida! They have changed the economic landscape by doing great things for the economy and at the same time doing it environmentally.”
